For 117 years, this beautiful island was the last place in the world you would have wanted to be sent on. San Lucas housed a brutal prison, often compared to Devil’s Island where the worst prisoners were sent. Closed in 1992, the island has not been opened to the public, thus allowing the island to recover from the disasters that happened in the past. Now opened on a limited basis, San Lucas is the first place you should want to visit.

We will leave the city in the morning, heading to the mountains that surround the Central Valley, with spectacular scenery of vegetation and extensive coffee plantations, ornamental plants, pictures of typical towns in Costa Rica. During the ascent, we will enjoy climatic changes.
